People with disability

At Council, we are committed to providing services, facilities and events that everyone in the community can participate in and enjoy.

We are always working to make sure:

  • Council information and services are accessible and easy to understand
  • venues are easy to enter
  • the community is aware of important issues for people with disability.

Disability Inclusion Action Plan

Council’s Disability Inclusion Action Plan 2022-2025(PDF, 3MB) aims to make Kempsey Shire an accessible and inclusive place to live, visit, work and play.

The guiding principles in the plan are:

  1. increasing positive attitudes and behaviours towards people with disability
  2. making Kempsey Shire more accessible, inclusive and liveable
  3. increasing meaningful education and employment for those with disability
  4. improving access to Council’s services through better systems and processes.

The plan sets out the actions Council will take in the next three years as we work towards greater inclusion and accessibility.

To find out more, see Disability Inclusion Action Plan.

Community development programs
