Corporate management

Corporate management refers to the corporate governance of Council and the processes by which Council is directed, controlled and held to account. Corporate governance encompasses authority, accountability, stewardship, leadership, direction and control in the organisation. 

The key elements of corporate management at Kempsey Shire Council are:

  • the implementation of effective internal control systems for financial, work health and safety, and administrative processes 
  • transparency of corporate information and operations 
  • accountability through clear and timely disclosure to the community.

Integrated planning and reporting

Council operates within the NSW Government's integrated planning and reporting framework to deliver, resource and report on our strategic planning.

Publication Guide

The Publication Guide includes Council’s structure, functions and the kinds of information Council holds and will make publicly available.

Open access information not released

This document lists information Council has decided not to release based on an overriding public interest against disclosure.

Disclosure log of access applications

The disclosure log lists access applications Council has received that are likely to be of interest to the public.

Disclosure of Interests

Council’s disclosure of interest returns include returns made by Councillors and other designated people.

Disclosure of Interests Register

The Disclosure of Interests Register provides Councillor and staff disclosures of matters that may generate a conflict of interest in their Council duties.

Register of Government Contracts

The Register of Government Contracts lists government contracts to which Council is a party that have a value of $150,000 or more.

Register of Planning Decisions

The Register of Planning Decisions contains, for planning decisions made at Council or committee meetings, the names of Councillors who supported and opposed the decisions.

Delegations of Authority

Delegations of Authority facilitate the effective and efficient operation of Council. They provide the General Manager with sufficient power and authority to generally manage, control and administer the affairs of Council on a day-to-day basis.
