Volunteering

Volunteering is a great way to have a meaningful and positive impact on your community. As a volunteer you will have opportunities to:

  • explore your interests
  • make new friends
  • gain skills and insights
  • improve your health and well-being.

Where can I volunteer?

Kempsey Community Directory lists local events and community groups that welcome volunteers. Local volunteering opportunities also appear below.

Community halls

Help organise social events and maintain the historic buildings of Kempsey Shire. To explore being a casual volunteer or joining a hall committee near you, see Venues and facilities for hire.

Volunteering at a Council facility

Kempsey Shire Council values volunteers and welcomes their generous contributions to the Macleay Valley community. Please visit the Volunteer with Council page for more details.

Under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (NSW), Council has the same duty of care to its volunteers as it does to employees. We therefore require all volunteers to participate in an induction program. For more information, contact us on 6566 3200.
