If you need general planning or pre-lodgement advice, our Customer Service team will refer you to Council’s Duty Planner service. 

Duty Planner phone service

You can obtain general planning advice from Council’s Duty Planner on Wednesdays from 10 am to 3 pm by phoning 02 6566 3200.  

The Duty Planner can’t prepare your development documentation or provide legal advice but can help you:   

  • understand development application information requirements
  • interpret the Kempsey Local Environmental Plan 2013 and Kempsey Development Control Plan 2013
  • locate planning information on Council and other agency websites

Duty Planner appointments

If you need detailed planning advice for your development project, you can arrange a meeting with a Council Duty Planner by calling 02 6566 3200. Duty Planners are currently available for appointments between 10 am and 12 pm on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Heritage advisory service

Owners of heritage-listed properties in Kempsey Shire can access free, expert advice about their property through Council’s heritage advisory service. 

Consultations are available once a month at Council’s Civic Centre in Kempsey or on-site at your property. Bookings are essential and can be made by contacting Council on 02 6566 3200.
