Clyde Street car park and amenities upgrade

The upgrade to the car park and amenities in Clyde Street, Kempsey, will:

  • replace the water mains and water infrastructure under the car park
  • renew the car park area
  • replace the ageing public toilet
  • create safer links to surrounding businesses for pedestrians
  • create easier access for vehicles

The project is expected to be completed in 2021.

In 2018 Council engaged with businesses and the community about the need for a revitalisation of the car park and toilet facilities at Clyde Street, Kempsey. Subsequently Council received $225,000 in funding under the NSW Government Stronger Country Communities Fund. Funds were also allocated to the $700,000 project in Council’s Operational Plan.

The construction contract was awarded to Osborne and Dowling at the April 2020 Council meeting.
