Stuarts Point Catch Up

Council would like to send a huge thank you to the Stuarts Point, Grassy Head and Fishermans Reach communities for attending Council’s Community Catch-up on Thursday.

Various Council leadership and staff, Mayor Liz Campbell and Councillors Leo Hauville, Mark Baxter, Dean Saul, Sue McGinn and Bruce Morris were in attendance, attentively listening and acknowledging the residents’ concerns.

We heard you and appreciated the passionate views presented and respectful conversations expressed last night about the flooding of Stuarts Point, Grassy Head and Fishermans Reach, as well as other key concerns affecting the residents at present and their vision for the future.

The Stuarts Point Hall was packed with residents from Fishermans Reach, Grassy Head and Stuarts Point itself. Participants were invited to share their questions, concerns and expectations for the future with Council. All that feedback will be collated and responded to in a written report that Council will then share with everyone who attended and the wider community.

The next Community Catch-up is set to take place at Gladstone Hall on 1 July 2021 and will focus on the twin towns Smithtown and Gladstone.
