Kempsey Shire Council is excited to host the Festival of Small Halls Autumn Tour at Frederickton this April.

On Thursday, April 8, musicians Bobby Alu and This Way North will be bringing a mix of folk and contemporary music to the Frederickton School of Arts Hall on Macleay St.

You will also be supporting regional talent as the show will open with mid-north coast local Liam Moylan, an acoustic folk soul musician.

Presented by Woodfordia Inc, in partnership with Council, the festival is a series of tours that takes some of the best musical artists and sends them on the road to play at small halls all over Australia.

This Way North’s guitarist and singer, Leisha Jungalwalla, said, "We are beyond excited to resume life on the road with Festival of Small Halls.”

“Touring regionally is one of our favourite things to do, the places, the people, playing shows, the road, it's our happy place!"

After the series of natural disasters and hardships that have occurred recently, people deserve an opportunity to relax, unwind, and be entertained by some live music.

Eleanor Rigden, Producer of the Festival of Small Halls, said, “These music shows have always been inspiring and joyous ways for communities to pull together.”

“In the aftermath of Covid-19, watching these towns get back on their feet and work to safely bring their neighbours, their friends and visitors back together has been so inspiring.”

“We’ve all been alone for a little while in the last 12 months and our treasured halls are waiting, as they have been for generations, to host our reunions and once more come alive with music, memories, kindness and the spirit of community.”

With the backdrop of the historic Frederickton School of Arts Hall, and the majestic Macleay sweeping along behind, what could be a better place to listen to some chilled out, breezy, and gentle tunes.

This is a COVID safe event, with social distancing in place and limited numbers.

Grab your tickets now before they sell out. Doors open at 6.30pm for a 7pm start.
