The Armidale Regional Council is now able to make critical improvements to Kempsey Road, after securing a grant of $4.95 million from the NSW Fixing Local Roads program.

The council will use these funds to alleviate some of the issues that have caused landslips and washouts and left the community isolated at times.

They will be making critical road improvements, including sealing, repairs and safety works from west of the Lower Creek community towards Black Bird Creek Bridge.

It is expected that the work will be completed within two years to ensure the local community sees benefits such as increased safety and productivity as soon as possible.
