Slim Dusty Centre

Located in Slim Dusty’s home town of Kempsey, the Slim Dusty Centre is a multi-purpose facility that offers:

  • Kempsey Visitor Information Centre
  • a retail shop
  • a cafe
  • the Nulla Nulla Art Gallery
  • the famous Slim Dusty Museum
  • Nulla the Koala, from the Hello Koalas sculpture trail.

The museum exhibition features objects and images from the Kirkpatrick family’s own archive, as well as contributions from fans and friends all over the world.

Visually rich and astonishingly varied, the display offers insights into the amazing lives of Slim, Joy and their family and mates, touring the towns and villages of Australia’s outback. You can get a close-up look at ‘Old Purple’ and Slim and Joy’s last touring caravan.

Be sure to try our specially formulated Homewood coffee blend, selected by Slim’s family, and delicious treats from Dusty’s Dinner Camp Café.

We can’t wait to welcome you to the Slim Dusty Centre. Drop in and say g’day!

The Slim Dusty Centre is managed by Kempsey Shire Council.
